Dive in and thrive!As Platform Operations Engineer (all genders) , you are responsible for the reliable operation, monitoring, and deployment of envelio’s software solutions in complex customer environments. You ensure that updates, fixes, and new versions of the Intelligent Grid Platform (IGP) are deployed smoothly across  cloud, on-prem, and operational technology (OT) environments . A core part of your role is the  day-to-day operation of customer systems , including monitoring system health, handling incidents, and coordinating effective incident resolution. You actively contribute to stable 24/7 operations by detecting issues early, responding to incidents, and ensuring clear communication and handovers. You work at the intersection of engineering, operations, and customers. In close collaboration with customer IT and  OT teams, you help clarify operational models, understand existing infrastructure, and ensure that our software runs reliably and securely in real-world grid environments. You deploy software updates, patches, and fixes to customer environments in cloud, on-prem, and OT setups
You operate and maintain customer systems, ensuring stable and secure day-to-day operation
You contribute to 24/7 operation by participating in standby / on-call rotations , ensuring fast reaction times in case of incidents
You support customers during rollouts, upgrades, and operational incidents, including outside regular business hours when required
You work directly with customers to understand their cloud customer environments (Kubernetes, mostly single-tenant per customer) as well as on-prem and OT landscapes, and to define suitable operating models
You analyze operational issues and coordinate troubleshooting together with development, SRE, and security teams
You document customer-specific setups, operational procedures, and deployment processes
You contribute to improving and standardizing deployment and operation processes across customers
You support internal teams by providing feedback from real-world customer operations into product and engineering decisions

You have strong experience operating complex cloud applications and understand how to run services reliably under real-world conditions You operate production services on cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/ GCP ) and are familiar with typical failure modes
You have hands-on experience with Linux and basic networking in troubleshooting ( logs , system state, connectivity)
You are familiar with modern operating models such as containers/ Kubernetes (or similar) and can evaluate deployments in production (rollouts, rollbacks)
You have exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform)
You enjoy hands-on operational work - from deployments to troubleshooting in production environments
You have a solid understanding of fundamental security concepts.

You enjoy working closely with customers and can explain technical topics clearly and pragmatically
You have solid experience with monitoring and observability platforms (Datadog, Grafana, or similar)
You are willing and able to contribute to 24/7 operations through standby or on-call duty as part of a shared team rotation
You are structured, reliable, and take ownership of operational responsibilities
You collaborate well with software engineers and can translate operational constraints into technical requirements
You are familiar with parts of our tech stack or are confident you can quickly grow into it
You are fluent in German and English

Structured incident handling (restore service, communicate clearly, then follow up on root causes)
Release operations with a pragmatic risk mindset (safe changes, fast rollback when needed)
Monitoring and alerting hygiene (signal over noise)
Strong runbooks and automation to reduce operational toil over time
Hybrid cloud and on-prem environments, including customer-operated infrastructure
Containerized applications orchestrated by Kubernetes and Helm
Applications primarily written in Python and TypeScript
Standard backing services like PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Redis
Cloudflare
GitLab & GitLab CI for managing builds and releases
Several cloud providers
Terraform and automation tooling to support deployments and operations
Datadog (monitoring, alerting, dashboards)
Linux systems, VPN technologies
