Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Member of Technical Staff (MTS-2) with 2+ years of software development experience to join our API Platform Engineering team. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of scalable cloud-based services and APIs. The engineer will work closely with senior engineers, product managers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality solutions using REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, AWS cloud technologies, and modern software development practices.

This role is ideal for engineers with a strong coding foundation, a passion for distributed systems, and a desire to grow expertise in cloud-native application development.

Key Responsibilities

·       Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and Python.

·       Develop and enhance RESTful APIs and GraphQL APIs that support customer-facing and internal applications.

·       Participate in feature design discussions and contribute to technical solutions for product requirements.

·       Build and deploy cloud-native applications and services using AWS technologies.

·       Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while following engineering best practices.

·       Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production and customer-reported issues.

·       Collaborate with Product Management, QA, UX, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality features.

·       Participate in code reviews and continuously improve software quality, reliability, and performance.

·       Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automation, and development productivity initiatives.

·       Create and maintain technical documentation for APIs, services, and design decisions.

·       Support Agile development processes using Jira and source code management using Bitbucket.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

·       2+ years of software development experience.

·       Strong programming skills in Node.js and Python.

·       Hands-on experience developing and consuming REST APIs and GraphQL APIs.

·       Experience working with AWS cloud services.

·       Proficiency with Git-based version control systems, Bitbucket, and Jira.

·       Understanding of the software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and Agile practices.

·       Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

·       Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

·       Experience with GraphQL schema design and API gateway technologies.

·       Exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems.

·       Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

·       Familiarity with CI/CD tools and deployment automation.

·       Knowledge of authentication and authorisation mechanisms such as OAuth2 and JWT.

·       Experience with database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.

·       Understanding of observability tools, logging, and monitoring solutions.

Education

Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience. Bachelors or Masters degree holder
