About the role

AT SPAN, WE BELIEVE IN:
- Enabling homes and vehicles powered by clean energy
- Making electrification upgrades possible
- Building more resilient homes with reliable backup
- Designing a flexible and distributed electrical grid
THE ROLE
We are looking for a Salesforce Developer to build and own the automation, data model, and custom functionality behind SPAN's commercial operations. This is a hands-on build seat: you will design and ship record-triggered and screen Flows, model custom objects and relationships, write Apex and Lightning Web Components where a declarative approach won't scale, and deploy your work across sandboxes to production with change-management rigor. You will work directly with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain stakeholders to turn business processes into scalable Salesforce solutions.
This role supports all channels of the SPAN commercial team, including our CPQ/quoting pipeline, Lead Pass routing, installer and builder portals, and the order-to-fulfillment integration.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and build Salesforce automation end to end, primarily in Flow (record-triggered before/after-save, screen flows, subflows, invocable actions), with bulk-safe, recursion-aware design.
- Model and maintain custom schema: custom objects, junction objects, master-detail and lookup relationships, record types, and validation rules.
- Write Apex (triggers, controllers, test classes) and build Lightning Web Components when declarative tools can't meet the requirement, with proper test coverage.
- Gather requirements from cross-functional stakeholders, author design specs and release documentation, and translate business process into documented, scalable solutions.
- Own deployments across multiple sandboxes to production using Gearset, following SPAN's change-management and release-documentation conventions.
- Maintain and extend the security model: permission sets, field-level security, profiles, and sharing.
- Support and enhance the core commercial surfaces: CPQ/quoting, Lead Pass, installer/builder Experience Cloud portals, and the Salesforce side of the order/fulfillment integration.
- Use AI to work with greater leverage, both to increase your own delivery velocity (e.g., AI coding assistants to ship Apex/LWC faster) and to build AI-enabled solutions (Agentforce, Einstein, prompt-driven automation) that streamline Sales and Sales Operations processes.
ABOUT YOU
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years in a Salesforce Developer, Administrator, or Business Systems Analyst role, with a demonstrable record of hands-on building, not solely analysis, support, or documentation.
- Advanced Flow expertise: record-triggered flows (before-save and after-save), screen flows, subflows, and invocable actions, with an understanding of bulk safety, recursion control, and run context.
- Strong Salesforce data modeling: custom objects, junction objects, master-detail and lookup relationships, record types, and validation rules.
- Proficiency with SOQL, including relationship queries, and a working understanding of governor limits.
- Demonstrated ability to write Apex (triggers, controllers, test classes) and build Lightning Web Components for custom UI, with proper test coverage.
- Experience deploying across multiple sandbox environments to production with a formal change-management process (Gearset or an equivalent DevOps tool).
- Fluency with the Salesforce security model: permission sets, field-level security, profiles, and sharing rules.
- Experience gathering requirements from a diverse set of business stakeholders and translating them into technical designs and documentation.
- Experience in a fast-moving, growth-oriented B2B and/or channel sales environment.
- Salesforce Platform Developer I certification, or equivalent demonstrable development experience.
- Driven, detail-oriented, get-it-done mentality.
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS
- Salesforce Administrator or Advanced Administrator certification.
- Experience with Experience Cloud / Communities administration (sites, sharing, security).
- Experience with Salesforce CPQ or another quoting/pricing system.
- Experience with Account Engagement (Pardot).
- Experience integrating Salesforce with middleware or ERP systems (Boomi, NetSuite), including external-ID patterns and platform-event-driven design.
