About the role

Driving the next generation of wealth.

Digital assets are redefining how wealth is created, used, and transferred. Since 2018 at Nexo, we have been building the future model of financial wealth - dynamic, accessible, and designed for a new generation of forward-thinking investors.

But technology alone doesn’t drive progress. People do.

We are a team of builders, strategists, analysts, creatives, and operators united by a shared mindset: advancement. We move fast, think long term, and take ownership. We challenge ideas, not people. We value clarity over noise and impact over optics.

What makes Nexo different?

We shape industry trends. We rethink how wealth works and build solutions that reflect that belief.

That requires a certain kind of person.

You will thrive here when you think independently and act decisively, take ownership without waiting for permission, and care deeply about quality, long-term value, and disciplined execution. The people who succeed at Nexo bring analytical depth, sound judgment, and resilience - but also curiosity and the drive to keep improving.

This is an environment for people who want to lead, create, and elevate what already exists. If building what’s next excites you, you’ll feel at home at Nexo.

Your role:

Own the vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for Nexo’s platform and infrastructure - the foundation every engineering team builds on.
Lead, grow, and mentor a team of platform, DevOps, and SRE engineers - and their managers - setting a high bar for hiring, performance, and career growth.
Set technical direction for our cloud-native platform on AWS and Kubernetes (EKS) - multi-tenancy, GitOps with FluxCD, and infrastructure as code with Terraform and Helm.
Stay technically hands-on where it matters: architecture reviews, hard trade-offs, and setting the engineering standards the team builds to.
Own reliability and operational excellence – SLOs/SLIs, incident response, and observability with Datadog and Prometheus/Grafana .
Drive security, compliance, and resilience across the platform in a regulated, high-stakes financial environment.
Own cloud cost efficiency and capacity, driving strong FinOps practices across the platform.
Partner with engineering, product, and security leadership to align the platform roadmap with business goals.

How we work with AI

AI is central to how we build, and we expect our leaders to drive it. Our primary stack is Anthropic’s Claude, used through Claude Code , across pipelines, code quality, operational automation, and documentation. As Director you’ll set the standard for how the platform organisation adopts AI – where it accelerates delivery, how we keep quality and security high, and how we scale agentic and AI-assisted workflows responsibly. We want a leader who is genuinely excited to push this further.

What makes you stand out:

8+ years in infrastructure or platform engineering, including several years leading teams - ideally including other managers or team leads.
Deep, hands-on expertise with AWS and Kubernetes (EKS) , and a track record of scaling cloud-native platforms that hold up under pressure.
Strong command of GitOps (FluxCD), infrastructure as code (Terraform, Helm), CI/CD (Jenkins), and API gateway/networking (Kong) – DNS, TCP/IP, TLS, ingress, and zero-trust are not abstract to you.
Proven ownership of an SRE/reliability practice - SLOs, incident management, and observability at scale.
Experience owning security posture and cloud cost efficiency, ideally in fintech, crypto, or another regulated, high-availability domain.
You use AI daily and lead its adoption by example ( Claude Code or similar ), with the judgment to balance speed, quality, and security.
A people leader who hires well, grows engineers and managers, and sets a high standard through clear thinking and disciplined execution.
Executive-level communication: you translate technical strategy into business impact and build trust across functions.

Nexo benefits:

Competitive and rewarding remuneration package.
Annual performance-based bonuses.
Comprehensive Learning Hub for continuous growth.
Hybrid work model: primarily office-based with scheduled home office flexibility.
A dynamic and inspiring environment with cutting-edge projects.
Career development opportunities in a global leader driving the next generation of wealth.

Wellness benefits include additional health insurance, all-access sports cards, team-wide sports activities, standing desks, and blue light glasses.
Parking and public transportation cards at preferential rates, plus free electric bikes.
Fresh fruits, snacks, and a well-stocked office kitchen.
Regular department team buildings and company-wide team buildings.
