Avionics Manufacturing Engineer (Program Management)

About the role

We are looking for an Avionics Manufacturing Engineer who will own Helios avionics as a product in the manufacturing organization.
Helios is the kick stage transforming access to MEO, GEO, Cislunar, and beyond. Paired with a medium-lift launch vehicle, Helios provides same day delivery for large payloads from LEO to high-energy orbits — delivering heavy-lift performance at medium-lift costs.
Leveling will be commensurate with experience.

Own Helios avionics as a product in the manufacturing organization. Serve as program manager both flight hardware and ground support equipment.
Work with Helios program management to define schedules and deliverables.
Own mechanical assembly of Helios avionics system by working with subject matter experts on the avionics manufacturing team (PCBAs, RF, optics, harnessing, batteries).
Design the manufacturing process and write manufacturing procedures for mechanical assembly of the overall avionics system.
Train and guide technicians building avionics hardware.
Collaborate with design engineers on DFM of Helios avionics.
Collaborate with cross functional teams on quality and long-term reliability.
Ensure the timely delivery of avionics components to Integration.
Provide day-to-day support for the production floor, resolving build issues, updating work instructions, and improving yields.
Support environmental and functional testing in production.

Bachelors' degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
3+ years of experience in a program management or project management role leading cross functional teams to deliver complex hardware, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
3+ years of experience as a manufacturing engineer for electronic or optical hardware
Experience writing manufacturing work instructions and training technicians to build hardware.
Proficient in mechanical design using Siemens NX
