Senior Application Engineer (Dongguan, China)


Job Purpose

Own the front-end of advanced technology development in China. The Senior Application Engineer China supports the identification, evaluation, and technical validation of new technology and application opportunities in the Chinese market. The role focuses on translating customer and Business Unit needs into technical concepts, prototypes, and validation plans, while acting as a strong technical bridge between China and Europe. The position requires a hands-on application specialist solid in prototyping, lab testing and customer application development. Target market segments (included but not limited to): energy transition, datacenter, energy storage, hydrogen, wearables, and other emerging segments.


Key Responsibilities

Identify, evaluate and verify new technology and application opportunities in Chinese markets

Understand customer and market needs and translate them into technical ideas, concepts, solutions, prototypes and verification plans 

Evaluate opportunities based on technical feasibility, customer value, risk, and timing

Carry out prototype development, testing verification and technical analysis, and promote the implementation of innovative projects

Work closely with Europe and act as a technical link between China and Europe

Prepare clear technical documentation, test results, and development updates

Collaborate with customers, universities, suppliers, research institutes, and other innovation partners in China


Candidate Profile & Requirements


Bachelor's degree or master's degree (full-time) in Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Materials Engineering, Electronics or other relevant engineering disciplines.

Minimum 5 years of experience in R&D, advanced engineering, application engineering, or product development

Strong hands-on experience in prototyping, testing, and technical problem solving

CAD knowledge and ability to prepare clear technical documentation

Knowledge of sensors, actuators, embedded systems, or elastomer material is a plus

Good communication and stakeholder management skills

English can be used as a working language

Possess innovative thinking, good communication and coordination skills, as well as a customer-oriented mindset
