Our mission
The GCE IPAM (IP Address Management) team is at the core of Google Cloud Networking. We are responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of IP addresses for Google Compute Engine (GCE) and a growing range of GCP services. Our systems handle the allocation, assignment, tracking, and management of all IP resources, underpinning the virtual networks of our customers, which enables them to build scalable and flexible networks on GCP. Key areas include:
Managing IPv4 and IPv6 addresses for VMs, Load Balancers, and other services like IP Manager, Address Services, IPAM modules in VPC network and subnetwork services.
Developing features like Internal Range for private IP space management within VPCs.
